Five Ways to Pay at Tony Allen Auto Service

Afterpay
Pay in 4 — Always Interest-Free

Afterpay splits your repair or service bill into four equal fortnightly payments. You pay the first 25% when you collect your vehicle — Afterpay pays us in full. The remaining three instalments are automatically deducted from your linked card every two weeks. No interest. No annual fees. No catch when you pay on time.

Set up the Afterpay app and add the digital Afterpay Card to your phone's wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay) before arriving. A credit check applies at sign-up as required under NZ law. Spend limits apply and vary by customer.

Can I use buy-now-pay-later for any repair?

Yes. Afterpay and Zip are accepted across our full range of services — WOF, routine servicing, brakes, tyres, engine work, cambelt, suspension, clutch, and more. The only limitation is your individual spend limit with the provider. Check your available balance in the Afterpay or Zip app before booking if your job is a larger one.

Do I need to set up Afterpay or Zip before I come in?

Yes. Both Afterpay and Zip require an active account and the digital card set up in your phone's wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay) before paying in-store. Download the app, complete sign-up, and add the in-store card before your collection appointment. It takes only a few minutes.

What if I've been declined by other lenders?

Aotea Finance considers applications from people in a wide range of circumstances, including those who may not qualify through mainstream credit providers. They assess each application individually. Apply online for a no-obligation pre-approval — we recommend doing this before booking in for a large job.

Is there a minimum spend to use these options?

Gem Finance requires a minimum purchase of $250 to qualify for the interest-free period. Afterpay and Zip are subject to your personal spend limit — new customers typically start with a lower limit. QCard and Aotea Finance don't publish a stated minimum. For small jobs, standard EFTPOS or cash is often simpler.

Can I split the cost if my repair bill is large?

Yes. For larger bills, Gem Finance offers six months interest-free on purchases over $250, and Aotea Finance can provide a personal loan with an agreed repayment schedule. QCard offers a minimum of three months with no payments and no interest. Call us on 0800 100 876 and we can talk through the best option before you commit to anything.

Do I need to tell you in advance which option I'm using?

It helps but isn't essential for most options. For Afterpay and Zip you just need your digital card ready on your phone at collection. For QCard, Gem, or Aotea Finance, having your card or approval confirmation ready makes checkout faster. Let us know when you book if you have any questions.

Are these options available for fleet or commercial vehicles?

Afterpay, Zip, QCard, and Gem Finance are consumer products designed for individuals. For business fleet servicing, TAAS Fleet offers direct invoicing and account arrangements with fleet management companies. Contact us to discuss a fleet account on 0800 100 876 or enquiries@taas.co.nz.

Can I use more than one finance option at once?

Each transaction is processed through a single provider. If your repair bill exceeds your Afterpay or Zip limit, call us on 0800 100 876 before your appointment and we can help work through your options at the service desk.
